XAMPP is a completely free and open source comprehensive solution for setting up web servers, containing the Apache web server, the MariaDB database management system (a fork maintained by the MySQL community), and the interpreters for PHP and Perl scripting languages. The program's curious name is a result of the combination of: Cross-Platform + Apache + MariaDB + PHP + Perl.
Easy installation
One of the great benefits of XAMPP is that if you were to download and install the same software separately, it would take much longer. Thanks to this package, however, you can start setting up your server and save a lot of time in the process. There are no prerequisites. The installation process may take a few minutes depending on your PC, but once completed you can instantly access the program's control panel to make the most of all the features.
A safe and easy-to-use tool
XAMPP was originally conceived exclusively as a development tool for designers, programmers and webmasters to test locally, without the need for Internet access. In practice, however, the program can easily be used as a server for any website with just a few modifications. Many of the security features are disabled by default, but you can easily enable them if you want to use it as an online server. A special tool allows you to protect the most important parts of the package with a password.
Everything you need to set up your server
Download XAMPP if you want to set up a server and don't want to waste any time. Thanks to this content pack you can install everything you need in under five minutes. You would otherwise have to search for, download and install several different programs separately, which would take a lot more time.
